Charming accommodation in the heart of Amsterdam

The Jordaan district

The Jordaan is a neighbourhood of the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is part of the borough of Amsterdam-Centrum. The area is bordered by the Lijnbaansgracht to the west; the Prinsengracht to the east; the Brouwersgracht to the north and the Leidsegracht to the south. The former canal Rozengracht (now filled in) is the main traffic artery through the neighbourhood.

Originally a working-class neighbourhood, the Jordaan has become one of the most expensive, upscale locations in the Netherlands. It is home to many art galleries, particularly for modern art, and is also dotted with speciality shops and restaurants. Markets are held regularly at Noordermarkt, the Westerstraat (the Lapjesmarkt textile market) and Lindengracht.

Queen room

The cosy room with African decorations is situated in the downstairs guest apartment of a townhouse build in 1712, located in the heart of the old city centre 'De Jordaan'.
The bedroom and bathroom have both recently been renovated. The bedroom on the lower floor has a comfortable queen size bed and is surrounded by African decor, art and aesthetic. The bathroom (shower and sink) is situated ensuite, and the private toilet is located outside the room a few steps higher on the upper floor.

COVID 19 protocol:
We’re committed to an enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed in partnership with experts in health and hospitality. Here’s what we’ve done to clean and sanitize the space:
We use cleaners and disinfectants, approved by global health agencies.
We cleaned, mopped and/or dusted before sanitizing.
All high-touch surfaces have been sanitized, down to the doorknob.
Each room was cleaned using extensive cleaning checklists.
We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay if you want to.
On top of that:
We do have a smart lock with a keypad or access via the Danalock app on your smartphone
We’ll practice social distancing with guests, and encourage you to
do the same. In stead of handshakes or hugging, we’ll consider alternative no-contact greetings.
We have a 12 hour period between rentals. This waiting period is for your protection and helps to ventilate the room, to limit your exposure to aerosolized virus droplets that may be in the room.
So as you can see we took all precautions to make sure your stay at the African Lily is Covid 19 proof and as enjoyable as it can be.
